Simskola / Swimming-lesson

Idag var det dags för den första av tio simlektionen för Julia och Rufus. Rufus doppade inte ens tårna i vattnet men Julia var lite modigare och gjorde nästan allt som fröken ville.

Today it was time for the first of ten swim-lessons for Julia and Rufus. Rufus did not even dip his toes in the water but Julia was a bit braver and did almost everything that the teacher told her to do.

och varmt igen. Elen håller på ta slut i Los Angeles så att vi bakade idag var kanske inte så smart.

and warm again. The electricity is running out in Los Angeles so it might not have been so clever to bake today.

Helgen / The weekend

var väldigt varm så på lördagen var vi först i parken och cyklade innan vi var på bio. Vi såg filmen Cars som vi alla tyckte var bra. På söndagen åkte vi till stranden och lekte och sen var vi till the Starlight Bowl i Burbank och såg en konsert med The Fab Four.

was very warm so on Saturday we first went to the park for a bit of cykling and then went to the cinema. We saw the film Cars which we all liked. On Sunday we went to the beach and played and then we went to the Starlight Bowl in Burbank for a consert with The Fab Four.

För varmt /Too hot

att stanna i våra egna hemtrakter så vi åkte till havet. Resan dit tog 40 minuter, hemresan det dubbla.

to stay in our own neighbourhood so we went to the ocean. It took us 40 minutes to get there and twice as long to get home again.

Hon kryper / She crawls

Emma började igår krypa ordentligt men hon ser nästan generad ut när man kommer på henne.

Yesterday Emma started crawling properly but she looks a bit embarrased when you catch her doing it.

Fredag /Friday

Idag har vi vinkat av Wayland som åkte till London en vecka för att jobba.
Temparaturen steg till 40 grader på eftermiddagen så det var inte läge att leka ute. Vad gör man då? Åker till IKEA och kombinerar det med middag. Fick med oss en rosa låda för leksaker tillbaka.

Today we waved godbye to Wayland who flew to London to work for a week.
The temperature went up to 40 degrees in the afternoon so it wasnt fun to play outside. What do you do then? You go to IKEA and combine it with dinner. Got a pink toy-box with us back.

Vi började dagen med frukost inne i parken.

Nytt kylskåp / New fridge

fick vi idag. Tillbringade hela dagen hemma eftersom den skulle levereras mellan klockan 9-16, de kom vid 16:30.

we got today. We spent the whole day at home since it was being delivered between 9-16, they came at 16:30.

Trött på att äta /Tired of eating

Fjärde juli... /Fourth of July...

är en stor dag i USA då det var 230 år sedan de skrev under the Declaration of Independence. Vi tog oss friheten att inte fira mycket alls då jag inte kände mig helt frisk. Grillade och satte oss sedan i bilen och tog oss till taket på shopping-gallerian och såg Burbanks fyrverkerier. Bilen brevid oss spelade patriotiska sånger så det kunde inte ha varit mycket bättre.

is a big day in the USA since it was 230 years ago the Declaration of Independence was signed. We used our freedom to not celebrate much at all since I didnt feel all that well. We barbecued and went in the car to the roof of the shopping-mall and watched the fireworks of Burbank. The car next to us played patriotic songs so it couldnt have been much better.
